From Sarah Conley, CFA Animal Welfare Committee chairperson:
CALIFORNIA SB 716 Update!
The HSUS and Animal Rights sponsored SB 716 has been assigned to the Assembly Appropriations Committee for Wednesday, August 19th. This is the last committee SB 716 will see before it goes to the full Assembly, so we have to stop it here! If SB 716 passes, the AVMA-approved elephant guide tool will be banned and elephant care and conservation in California will be crippled. This bill’s passage will also mean the end of filming with elephants in the state.
Write to the Appropriations Committee before THIS TUESDAY, August 18th and ask them to OPPOSE SB 716. Remember, be polite.
Fax the Committee here: 916-319-2181
